◆About the Introduction of Accommodation Tax in Hokkaido and Sapporo◆
An accommodation tax will be implemented in Hokkaido and Sapporo starting with stays on April 1, 2026.
The accommodation rates listed on this website do not include the accommodation tax,
which is payable at check-in. Accommodation Tax Rates (per person per night):
Accommodation rates under 20,000 yen: 300 yen
Accommodation rates between 20,000 yen and 50,000 yen: 400 yen
Accommodation rates over 50,000 yen: 1,000 yen *Even if you make a reservation before April 1, 2026, the accommodation tax will apply to stays after April 1.

Backpackers Home is a multi-location living platform that allows you to move to any location in Japan on a one-month, one-month basis.
You can easily live in hostels and guesthouses from Okinawa to Hokkaido on a month-to-month basis.
Since you will be staying in hostels and guesthouses, the rooms will be cleaned every day!
You can live in your favorite area at your favorite time of year throughout the year, such as living near the ocean in Okinawa in summer, enjoying the season of autumn leaves in Kyoto in fall, winter sports in Niigata in winter, or relaxing in the fresh green scenery in Hokkaido in spring. You can sign up for a private room or dormitory room at our affiliated hostels and guesthouses at a lower price than usual.
