Reason of moving in to shared house

Before coming to Sapporo, I lived in the very busy yet impersonal Tokyo, where it was very difficult for me to find japanese friends, at least have exchange with japanese people. I also lived in a share-house, but it was nothing more than what the name suggests: people had no exchange, just lived there because it was cheap. I had heard that the people of Hokkaido were warmer, and this share-house seemed liked the good place to discover it.

How you spend your time in the share house

Being in working-holiday does not mean I'm traveling everyday. I spend a lot of time in the house, a place that I find very relaxing as well as lively. The living room, which includes the kitchen, is of course my favorite place and it's a pleasure to be able to cook in such a great environment. Dinner time is very fun, as I can have the chance to talk with many persons.

The change that happened after your stay in the share house

Traveling in japan can be a difficult experience alone. I'm so glad I could have the chance to be part of this share-house, which is a place where I can have cultural exchange with local people as well as other foreigners. It is an unique chance to experience the real way of life in Japan, rather than having your own apartment alone somewhere else, that would also be more expensive, non-furnished, without a foreigner-friendly contract.

The best memory so far in the share house

So far, my favorite memory was the christmas party. It was a great moment during which many persons prepared some meals, had fun together, and exchanged presents. It was the first time for me with this tradition, and a great time. The fact is that I was quite anxious before coming to japan, thinking that I would maybe have to spend christmas alone. Instead, it was a very warm time, contrasting with the great cold outside - a fantastic white christmas.

What do you want to do/be

It sometimes remains difficult for me to have deep conversations in japanese, so I would like to improve by talking more to everyone. As a more introvert person, I'm not trying to organize food parties at the house or events outside the house, but I would like to try one day.

Don't miss this precise share-house. Rather than having your own apartment somewhere, please experience real cultural exchange and have fun here. I've been in many share-houses in Japan, but this one is very unique as people are really sharing a life here, not only a roof. The staff is great as well, and will help you having a comfortable living in Japan.

Episode of "change your life for 180°" !

This house helped me changing my way of life, because I'm usually a lonely and not actively talking person. Also, many persons here have lot of skills for cooking, so it's like a friendly competition in the sense that I'm myself trying to cook more and more, something that I would not do alone and also for the reason that I wouldn't be able to share it.
